Detoxification and Rehabilitation

Addiction and substance abuse is an ongoing epidemic that has reached individuals and families of all backgrounds and economic classes throughout Delaware County and the Philadelphia suburbs. At our First Steps Treatment Centers, Crozer Health provides detoxification and rehabilitative services for men and women in Delaware County and beyond. Participation in treatment is voluntary and family-focused.

The therapeutic services offered by First Steps follow a trauma-informed approach to provide a safe environment for patients. Clinicians use evidenced-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), positive psychology, and 12-step facilitation. We also offer complimentary treatment services for patients, including yoga, acupuncture, psychodrama, and music therapy.

We offer comprehensive services and treatment for mental health and medical conditions that, without treatment, could interfere with recovery and increase the risk for relapse. This may include convenient consultations with a psychiatrist, nutrition/dietary professionals, and internal medicine physicians. Patients also have seamless access to providers specializing in pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, infectious diseases, neurology, surgery, and obstetrics and gynecology.

Residential Detox and Rehab

Through residential detoxification and rehabilitation, patients receive all services required to recover from addiction, mental health and any medical conditions beyond their addiction that may interfere with recovery and set patients up for relapse.

During detox, we provide care and monitoring for patients as alcohol or drugs leave their body. Residential detox is typically recommended to safely help patients avoid relapse in a medical setting.

At First Steps, we tailor our inpatient rehabilitation program to your personal situation, including the substances you’re abusing, your medical history, or co-occurring disorders. Our patients benefit from comprehensive, 24-hour medical services and have access to the extensive resources within Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

Acute Medical Detox and Rehab

The detoxification and rehabilitation services at First Steps Acute Medical Care, a division of Crozer-Chester Medical Center, feature integrated treatment for populations who are at a high risk of overdose or who have experienced a recent overdose, IV drug users, pregnant women, and individuals who have struggled with chronic relapse, including individuals with chronic medical and mental health complications.

Addiction Treatment for Expectant Mothers

Nearly every drug an expectant mother uses can pass to her unborn baby through the placenta. If the mother uses opiate or narcotic drugs for any reason, the baby can become physically dependent and may go through withdrawal at birth. Crozer Health provides complete care for expectant mothers and babies struggling with addiction.
