Christine F. Giesa, D.O., FACOEP-D

Program Director, Transitional First-Year Residency

Dr. Giesa received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1990. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in 1994. She is board certified in emergency medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine.

Throughout her career, Dr. Giesa has been very involved with physician education. Following residency, she joined the department of emergency medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center where she served as a clinical faculty member for the emergency medicine residency program until 2010. Dr. Giesa served as Program Director of the Osteopathic Traditional Rotating Internship at Delaware County Memorial Hospital from 2011 until 2017. She is a three-time recipient of the “Outstanding Teaching Award” given by the Crozer Health Family Medicine Residency Program and a 2019 Top Doctor of Main Line Today.

Dr. Giesa is an active member of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP).  She is a national program speaker and also developed the annual COLA Seminar. She has served on the Board of Directors and is a past President of the ACOEP. Dr. Giesa currently practices in the emergency department at Crozer-Chester Medical Center and at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.

Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), which is administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges. AAMC developed ERAS to transmit residency applications, letters of recommendation, dean's letters, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from applicants and medical schools to residency directors using the Internet.
