Curriculum

Following are the curricula and timeframes for PGY-1, PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents.

PGY-1

  • Emergency Medicine Ultrasound/Anesthesia – 1 block
  • Obstetrics – 1 block
  • Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU)- 1 block
  • Pediatric Emergency Medicine – 1 block
  • Community Emergency Medicine – 2 blocks
  • Emergency Medicine – 7 blocks

PGY-2

  • Pediatric ICU – 1 block
  • Trauma – 1 block
  • Shock Trauma ICU – 1 block
  • Emergency Medical Services (EMS) – 1 block
  • Elective – 1 block
  • Toxicology/Research – 1 block
  • Community Emergency Medicine - 1 block
  • Emergency Medicine – 6 blocks

PGY-3

  • Burn ICU – 1 block
  • ED Administration – 1 block
  • Elective* - 1 block
  • Pediatric Emergency Medicine – 1 block
  • Emergency Medicine – 8 blocks

*Elective includes experiences such as: International Emergency Medicine, Wilderness Experiences, Advanced Ultrasound, Advance Emergency Medical Services, Sports Medicine, and/or additional Community Emergency Medicine.
